ISLAND LIFE FOR CALIDORE
The staff at Calidore Computer Systems will be
checking the Tide Charts as they plan their training schedule for
their next installation. Calidore have gained an order for their
Power-Gx back-office system from Mersea based Adler
Business Systems.
Just 8 miles south-east of Colchester in Essex, Adler Business
Systems are based on the island of Mersea which is situated between
the estuaries of the Colne and Blackwater rivers. This unique place
is the most Easterly inhabited island in the British Isles and despite
it's size boasts a population of around seven thousand people. The
single causeway which connects Mersea Island to the mainland is
called The Strood and measures around half a mile long. In times
of high tides, The Strood is covered with sea water and becomes
impassable for around an hour.
Adler Business Systems have undertaken a lengthy investigation
of the available system options before deciding on both the Power-Gx
back-office suite and the on-line shopping facility ePower.
Calidore’s Kevin Cowell has already made two trips to the
island without getting his feet wet and looks forward to a mutually
beneficial working relationship with the directors and staff at
Adler, commenting “The training staff are really looking forward
to working with everyone at Adler in this unique location.”
